Caitlin Clark Responds to Kate Martin's Big News Before Fever-Aces

Aces prepare to face Fever

Indiana Fever trade for Dallas Wings star forward Katie Lou Samuelson

The Indiana Fever have acquired Katie Lou Samuelson from the Dallas Wings in exchange for a 2024 first-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday.

Samuelson, 25, is a four-year WNBA veteran who has averaged 11.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in her career.

The 6-foot-3 forward was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Wings.

She has started 104 of the 142 games she has played in her career.

Samuelson is expected to make her Fever debut on Friday when Indiana hosts the Las Vegas Aces.

The Fever are 6-7 this season and are currently in seventh place in the WNBA standings.

The Aces are 8-6 this season and are currently in fourth place in the WNBA standings.

Aces' Caitlin Clark reacts to Samuelson trade

Aces guard Caitlin Clark said she was surprised by the news of Samuelson's trade.

"I didn't see that coming," Clark said.

"But I'm excited to have her on our team.

She's a great player and she's going to help us win games."

Clark said she is looking forward to playing with Samuelson.

"I think we're going to complement each other well," Clark said.

"I'm a point guard and she's a forward, so we can play off of each other and create some good scoring opportunities."

The Aces will host the Fever on Friday at Michelob Ultra Arena.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
