Kiprusoff Honored by Flames With Jersey Retirement

Emotional Ceremony Held Before Game

Former Goalie Receives Highest Honor

The Calgary Flames honored former goalie Miikka Kiprusoff with a heartfelt jersey retirement ceremony before their matchup with the opposing team.

Kiprusoff, who played for the Flames from 2003 to 2013, was visibly emotional during his speech. He thanked the Flames organization, his teammates, and the fans for their support during his time in Calgary.

"It's the biggest honor you can get," Kiprusoff said. "I'm so grateful to the Flames for this incredible honor."

Former backup goaltender Jamie McLennan read a speech commemorating Kiprusoff, telling stories about his time with the Flames.

The ceremony culminated with Kiprusoff's jersey being raised to the rafters of the Saddledome, where it will hang alongside the jerseys of other Flames legends.
