Chelsea Thrash Bristol City to Keep WSL Title Bid Alive
Sam Kerr Scores Again as Chelsea Beats Bristol City 3-0
Blues End Difficult Week on a High
Chelsea kept their Women's Super League title bid alive with a dominant 3-0 victory over struggling Bristol City. The Blues traveled to Ashton Gate on Sunday 17 December for their final Barclays Women's Super League fixture of 2022.
Guro Reiten opened the scoring for Chelsea in the first half, with Sam Kerr adding a second before the break. Kerr then sealed the victory with a third goal in the second half, cementing Chelsea's spot at the top of the WSL table.
The victory was a welcome boost for Chelsea, who had endured a difficult week. The Blues had lost their previous two matches, including a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Women's FA Cup.
Bristol City, on the other hand, remain bottom of the WSL table on six points. The Robins have won one, drawn three, and lost nine of their 13 matches this season.
