Remove Acrylic Nails Safely and Effectively
Indirect Acetone Heating Method
Materials Required:
* Acetone * Bowl * Aluminum foil * Sponge or cotton balls * Cuticle pusher
Instructions:
1. Pour acetone into a bowl. 2. Wrap aluminum foil around the bowl, leaving the top open. 3. Cut and file your acrylic nails to remove the excess length and bulk. 4. Dab a sponge or cotton ball with acetone and gently rub the surface of the nail to remove any remaining polish. 5. Insert your hand into the bowl and place the nails over the open foil, ensuring they are completely submerged in the acetone vapor. 6. Keep your hand in the bowl for 10-15 minutes, or until the acrylic has softened sufficiently. 7. Remove your hand and gently push the loosened acrylic away from the nails using a cuticle pusher. 8. Rinse your nails thoroughly with water and soap to remove any remaining acetone.
Additional Tips:
* For thicker acrylics, you may need to repeat the process several times. * Use a coarse bit with your e-file to remove the top layer of gel polish before soaking in acetone. * Avoid using acetone directly on your skin as it can cause dryness and irritation. * Always follow proper ventilation guidelines when working with acetone, as it emits strong fumes.
