Plot
The film is set ten years after the events of the original Terminator film. John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance against the machines, is now a teenager living in obscurity with his mother, Sarah. However, they are both still targets of the machines, who send another Terminator, the T-1000, back in time to kill John.
To protect John, the human resistance sends back their own Terminator, a reprogrammed T-800, to help him. The two Terminators face off in a series of thrilling action sequences, as John and Sarah race against time to prevent the machines from taking over the world.
Reception
Judgment Day was a critical and commercial success. It grossed over $520 million worldwide against a budget of $102 million, making it the highest-grossing film of 1991. The film was also praised for its action sequences, special effects, and performances, and it is considered one of the greatest science fiction films ever made.
