Boeing Whistleblower John Barnett Found Dead
Former Quality Manager Raised Concerns About Manufacturing Practices
Mother of John Barnett Says She Holds Boeing Responsible for His Death
John Barnett, a 62-year-old former Boeing quality manager who raised concerns about the safety of the company's planes, was found dead in South Carolina on Saturday. His mother told CBS News that she holds Boeing responsible for his death.
Barnett had previously told his family that he had been harassed and intimidated by Boeing after he raised his concerns. He was scheduled to give a deposition in a lawsuit against Boeing on Monday.
"I think it was cathartic for him," Barnett's mother said. "On the first day of the deposition, Swampy had killed it because no one knew more about his case than he did."
Boeing has not commented on Barnett's death.
